About Quinta da Ria

The Quinta da Ria golf complex is in a spectacular location on the coast of the eastern Algarve and compromises two spectacular 18 hole golf courses. The Quinta da Ria, situated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and Quinta de Cima. One important factor that ensures the tranquillity of the courses is that no houses, or villas, or apartments to distract you from your game: just you and nature. Both courses been described by experienced golfers as some of the most breathtaking golf courses in the region.

Quinta da Ria is a spectacular 18 hole golf course that spreads along an almost flat surface of right down to the Ria Formosa itself, hanging over it and with a stunning view of the sea. More than 300 trees, such as olive and carob trees have been moved in order to maintain the ancient border of the course. This results in a feeling that the course is almost of the same age as its centenary trees. From any place of the site, one can see both the mountains and the sea.

Finally there is the Driving Range, which includes the Robinson Golf Academy. It comprises 3 greens and 6 tees to the teaching of the different types of game with irons, namely how to get off a bunker to a green 120 m distant.

These two courses are fantastic. Even if you are staying at Quinta do Lago or Vilamoura, it is well worth the 1 hour journey. Practice facilities are wonderful and there is a new hotel due to open soon. ...    Read More
