The Restaurant Amadeus opened in 2003 and quickly rose to become one of the top restaurants in the area. In fact in December 2006 Restaurant Amadeus was the only restaurant in Portugal to be awarded a Michelin Star that year and has won an award for the best restaurant in Portugal.

As you would guess from the name, the head chef Siegfried Danler-Heinemann, is from Austria and he has previously worked in the famous Le Canard Restaurant in Hamburg. His philosophy is to take a simplified approach to modern European gourmet cuisine while avoiding extravagant presentation and using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. Combine that with an extensive wine list that is well regarded as one of the best in the Algarve.

If you need any help choosing from their extensive and enticing menu then we would recommend the Spinach Soup to start followed by the sublime saddle of lamb which was an absolute delight to taste. The selection of homemade desserts is impossible to choose from as they all sound amazing.

Restaurant Amadeus has a beautiful outdoor dining area for those warmer nights and in winter time the inside of the restaurants lends to a traditional and welcoming atmosphere. If you want to spoil yourselves and have a superb dining experience then Amadeus is well worth a try.
